    Posted: 23 Aug 2011 at 7:09am
I never use the coupling under the seat and it leaks everytime I use the system, I played with the ball inside and jiggled it around and sprayed brake cleaner in there hoping some dirt was under it but no luck. So I deciced to cap it off and bought a cap and screwed it on but it leaked, so i added some permatex and it leaks, so i added some cork and rubber inner tube and it leaks, how do i seal this off since i dont plan on using it?

Take it off and cap the line or replace the coupling with a new one. There is no way of sealing a leak with 3500 psi on the back side without correcting the original problem.

If you aren't going to use the coupler I would take it off and get a Hydraulic pipe cap and use thread sealant on it not teflon tape.

If it is a female coupling , put a male coupling into it with a cap/plug in it and it should be sealed. as long as the O ring is good no leak should be there .
Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.
