Hello. I am planning on changing hydraulic oil in my D14. I was thinking about removing the hydraulic pump cover and cleaning out any gunk that has settled in the bottom. Is this a pretty straightforward thing to remove and reinstall?? According to what I see, it looks like a guy needs to remove the traction booster linkage guard, then remove the traction booster linkage from the end of the drawbar spring.  It looks like you then just remove the bolts and pop the cover off. Is there anything conected inside to the traction booster lever? I know it has to actuate the valve somehow. Thats what I'm concerned about.

baverwolf, I'm surprized that no one has responed to your post, and I'm not sure I'm the right one to answer it, but I will try. I'm not real up on the D14, but according to the parts book, if you are talking about the plate that has hyd pump attached to it, there is a few linkages and other things that are attached on the inside of the case. I don't have a service manual to see how these come out.

You'll have to loosen one of the two nuts on the TractionBooster link rod to take the spring pressure off of it. When reassembling, just put the nuts right back where they were. When you reinstall the cover plate, make note of where the roller arm goes, as it has a pocket to fit up into on the pump control.
