Hi All, I have a new to me 916H that I mow lawn with, when i got it I did not notice any oil leaks, now after using it several times it has developed an oil leak. it appears to be coming frm the upper rear part of the motor. Can anyone guess/diagnose where it would be coming from ( from past experience with these cast kohler motors)? I am assuming it is a seal/gastket issue. Has anyone repaired one like this recently? I am just looking for some repair advice and possible cost involved. Thanks.

On the 917 that belongs to a lady I cut grass for, that Kohler leaks from the front saft seal. The man that repaired it said it was because the crankcase breather was not clean, thus the pressure forced oil out of the seal. I don't know anything about Kohlers, just passing along the info in case it helps.

Thanks John, After looking at mine again it may be leaking from there, I'll clean it  and see if that makes a difference.
