    Posted: 17 Jun 2011 at 8:18pm
I am converting my snap coupler to a 3 point set up. I am all finished except the drawbar. I have the 3 point drawbar, but I cannot find in my parts or shop manual, a picture of how it is supposed to be attached. Does anyone have an picture or drawing of how the drawbar attaches underneath the tractor and could share here? Thanks Chris.

I think you need a bracket where the pedals mount.

Thanks for the photos Claus. I do not have this bracket, anyone know if they are available, say at Cook tractor or otherwise?

My photos are of my 170, I would think the D17 is the same.  Is there anything wrong with leaving your Snap-Coupler drawbar the way it is?

My only issue is the 3 point drawbar is a little longer.

I doubt it.....the length of that SnapCoupler drawbar is accurate for any 540 PTO powered equipment and the three point hitch drawbar would/should be the same. This way, if you use the 3pt hitch you may have to slide the snapcoupler drawbar out and off the tractor so it doesn't interfere with whatever it is you have on the 3pt hitch.

Like DrAllis says,  the length of the drawbar is correct, ASAE Standard,  height is also correct, both in relation to the end of the PTO shaft.  There is nothing wrong with running it that way.  With a 3-point drawbar you can further and deeper into a mudhole.  The Snap Coupler will help stop you so you won't get into too much trouble.

Hi: I have the original bracket that bolts under the tractor that bolts on with 6 bolts. The brake   rod goes thru it and the draw bar has a hole in the back. Let me know if intrested. 785-353-2392 Thanks

The 3 point version drawbar is longer by look of the eye. It mounts further ahead on the tractor though. So in the end the drawbar hole is in the same place no matter which style you use.

and....you will have to find the correct drawbar, which may be hard to find. The 3pt drawbar has a big bend in it.  Did you get the steering fixed??
