Any thoughts on the AC 7010

Any inherent problems, things to look for when buying, etc? Are any parts necessary to repair still available? Thanks.

A friend has a 7010 he bought 2 years old. He put over 10000 hours on it before a overhaul. At that time he had the agco dealer do the overhaul and new cab kit gaudges, seat. he even had them replace any leaking seal. It's a power shift, only cables went bad. Heres a couple of pics.

My dad used to have one......it ground a lot of feed and did a ton of feild work...was our only tractor for a long time. Put over 10,000 hours on it....ha dthe power shift trans. Did new pistons and sleeves at one point. Ran it for several years and then replaced the engine with a used combine engine.

We had an 7010 powershift for quite a few years, mostly used as a yard/chore tractor. We added a intercooler, and updated the injector pump, to make it into a 7020, so that we could pull an 8 row 36" planter. Had fertilizer on the planter, and carried 500 gals of herbicide on the tractor. It handled the hills of NE Nebraska real well. Over all it was a good tractor, but we did have a problem with the transmission, one of the pins that held one of the planet gears in place came loose and wedged in the transmission, locking it up. Took about $3400 to fix that. Then the coolant started leaking into the oil, this was due electrolysis  at the bottom of the block where the sleeve sealed. To fix this, we filled in the holes with JB weld, then after it had harden, we machined the JB weld so the sleeve would fit. We had this tractor for five years, and put about 17,000 hours on it.
