 Topic: Need help identifying a plow.

Hi everyone new poster here I have a Allis Chalmers wd-45 that was bored out with d17 pistons. It comes with the two point adapter on the rear with a snap coupler. I was searching for a plow for a garden and came across an Allis Chalmers 2 mouldboard plow. I will try to upload images but most of them use too much memory. I believe it's meant to hook up to this tractor given it's a two point with an underbelly hitch but there aren't any other Identifying factors other than it being orange.There is a serial number on one of the arms that reads 320324. Dad mentioned that the plows hitch could potentially be swapped out with a snap couple hitch for convenience but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the plow has a pin hitch instead of snap coupler?

This is my 2 bottom snap coupler plow, look like this but a pin hitch instead?

Garrett... most phones take photos that might be 5000 x 2000 pixels and 5 MB in size.. You need to RESIZE that to 800 x 600 size to load onto this site... You can e-mail the photo to yourself and resize it .... or down load onto your computer and use PAINT or other to RESIZE.... Maybe the PHONE can be set to take a different size photo..

Yes. It looks just like that except the disc blades are serrated.

I believe that’s a CA-52 plow. The number you say is sr number is a part number to the lift clevis

Just a FYI. WD45 & D17 are same bore and stroke.17's had higher compression making a few more HP. The hitch can be changed I'm sure work on a 45 snap coupler. if you go there best to use lift arm latches for snap coupler too. They are designed to let go of the plow should the snap coupler accidently release. With solid arm hook up the plow will flip up on you if it comes unhooked underneath. Just saying....

Great thanks for the heads up. It's dad's tractor but he doesn't get on the forums so I'm working with what info I have. I'll look into getting a hitch to fit the snap coupler. Thanks.

The Allis 2 furrow Plow was basically meant for the CA, and later the D-10 and D-12.
Be careful if converting it to Snap Coupler hitch and using it on a WD-45.
I believe the Plow tongue is shorter than what is required for a WD-45.
The Plow may hit and damage the tractor PTO when raising the Plow.

The different length pull-bars is something that could use some explanation. I have a nice little model 52 that I had to cut about six inches off to get it to mount on a WD or 45. No way it would have worked on a CA.
It seams like I have one of those long 'eyes' in the parts vault, never seen a plow with a short pull-bar that would need one though.

I have no idea of the differences but you have a pull point and a lift point that need the correct geometry. Since the lift point is fixed I would locate the pull point where it needs to be to work,whatever it takes. The 2 plows shown have the tuonge that swoops down then fwd. That was to clear the pto. Dads old 2-16 pin hitch for the WD does not droop that much and you have to remove pto to use it.
