hey guys, I have a 7000 black belly, should the suitcase weights be the thick or thin to be correct?? Thanks!

I believe that it uses 10 of the thick weights on the standard rack.

Thin on the red frame, thick on the black frame. Weight racks are the same and you can swap heavy weights on a red frame and vice versa. Not sure, but you could probably blend them on the same rack, just as long as your locks get tight.

Thin weights are 62 lbs x 15 is 920 lbs plus the heavy weight rack and keepers. We always called that a thousand pound set-up. The thick weights are 90 - 92 lbs each x 10 also comes out to 900 to 920 lbs total cast iron using the same weight rack.

I'm not too sure that the thick weights weren't used on the late maroon tractors?? I also don't think it would be wise to use the extended set on a standard front axle 7000.

I too remember the thick weights on the later 1976 model maroon belly tractors. They used to kind of brag that the thin weights were easier to handle at 62 lbs, but I'm sure the 92 lb weights in the end cost less per pound to produce.
