Does anybody remember a CHiPs episode that didn't involve a wreck with a cabover? Usually a C series Ford?

Never watched very often, years ago. Watched a time or two nowadays, still not my cup of tea. Have a watched the show about the firefighters that are kinda sorta paramedic’s, that always call in to the hospital on a phone in a box. Both shows are kinda ‘campy’ although better than most crap on the Tell-lie-vision these days.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Yeah it's cheesey. It's more of a nostalgia thing for me. Me and my brother watched a LOT of CHiPs reruns when we were growing up

Yeah it's cheesey.

Wife goes to bed at 10 PM and i stay up another hour.. Normally go to ROKU and watch a couple 30 minute shows from the 1950 - 1980... have found that about 80% of them are "cheesey"..... some are just hard to watch... too slow moving.

Didnt make it 5 minutes thru 6 Million Dollar Man or Bionic Woman... Watched full series of Magnum, Sharkey CPO... now doing Car 54 Where are you.....Cheesey as you said, but at least not WOKE or pushing some agenda.

I used one in my grandparents bedroom to call my first girlfriend at the ripe old age of 6. My girls played with it up until a few years ago so they at least know what one is

Yep, rotary phones and party lines, those were the days.Thumbs Down  I've even used the old crank phones in my day, however, it wasn't to talk to people, unless they had gills.Wink

Currently our local cooperative phone co. is plowing fiber everywhere, and I mean everywhere, 35 miles of fiber for 3 houses.Wacko  For something that's going to be obsolete in a few years, I guess it's free money they're using.Wink

i forgot about the party line that kind of whent away when i was about eight or ten years old ,  chips is on one of the channels i watch , i get a kick out of ponch and john one week they are roller derby the next week  they are surfers and the next week they are dirt track racers ,  and i love how 4500 lb cadilacs can just fly right over the rest of the ten car pileup   .    but on the   A team  they all can shoot 200,000,000 rounds and blow things up and no gets hit they just give up

Rotary phones - dang must be real old as I remember the phone setting in living room is a small space on the plaster wall just big enough to hold a phone - but no dial on it -
You picked up the hand set and heard Number Please from live operator on other end of line .
Then my mother had a news clipping from my grandparents who lived on farm right out of Ellsworth WI - they were note worthy as they just got their new phone 1,000 th phone in Pierce co , wood box , crank on side , hand held ear piece hanging on hook on side and microphone mounted on the front  with flexible arm to raise or lower it .
Then remember when the phone would ring but you had to count the rinds to see if it was for them - count long and short rings and number of each to see it the call was for them
Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.
