Hi
I am currently living in France . When i buy parts from the US, shipping cost and import taxes are very expensive about 2.5 to 3 times the price of the parts
My son is now living in Canada ,at Guelph city near Toronto
So my idea is to buy parts in Canada and my son will bring it to me.
Do you know dealers in Canada ?
Another question. Does shipping cost US to Canada expensive?
Do there is import, custom taxes in Canada for parts coming from US

I know there is Canada to US. Over $200.00 you get wacked. They also get you on the exchange rate. Financial institutions take cut for doing the currancy exchange.

Shantz farm equipment in Alma - just north of Guelph.  An AGCO dealer with a lot of Allis Chalmers experience.  Good for new parts, I do not think they have much for used parts though.  Depends what you are looking for.

Also, a little further from Guelph is Maple Lane Farm service, also know Allis equipment well.

Import fees; just about anything crossing the border gets taxed, if it's a private sale and the sender marks the package as a gift it won't get taxed.

I find a lot of local parts are the same costs as buying it online and shipping it now

Would be worth looking into the import laws of France and seeing if there are exceptions

this is crazy... I have piece of paper stuck to my monitor that says '1-800-430-5057 Charlie, Shantz'

YES, they're in Alma. Got a D-14 ring gear from them as well as other D-14 parts.
GREAT to deal with.
If son , or someone, was going to France for a visit, they could bring the items in, probably duty free ?

I used to get stuff brought in from American friends coming to Canada...NO 'customs' problems...just a simple 'have a nice visit'....
