A couple weeks back I was driving through town. I went by the bank and saw a couple elderly ladies trying to load a big box in the back of a car.
I flipped around and went back to help. They were quite happy with the help. Not one person I know drove by and saw this. A couple days ago I saw a Jeep for sale on the side of the road. I stopped for a peek. I must have got 75 texts and calls asking what I wanted with that old Jeep. |

I used to think a small rural town would be a good place for US Marshall service to stash somebody in a witness protection program. But then again, within 2 hours of hitting town, the whole place would know a stranger was in town and by dark, would know their whole life story. Best place to stash somebody would be in the big cities in a high rise apartment. Could hide out there for years and nobody would know or care who you were.

That's a good one Thad. I used to have a great aunt that lived just up the street from us. There were 3 houses between us and them. Every now and then mama would say "Betty wants you to come see her. She has something to give you". When me and my brother would get there she'd give us each a candy bar or something and then say "What do you hear about John?" He was a neighbor boy that liked trouble. Then before we left she'd give us each $5. Oh the good ole days of easy money

Hmmm. That must have been why I was always on someone's chit list when I was a kid.

We had an old boy with bad Alzheimer's. He would call 12-20 times a day wondering if we had his car done yet. He didn't have a car, he loaned it to a couple of young gals at a bar, about 6 months later cops found it abandoned in Phoenix Az. As he loaned it to them, the cops couldn't do anything about it. His son and 1 of his retired neighbors went down and picked it up. Old gal neighbors of his kept him fed and did his laundry. Heck he'd mowed their lawns for years. He liked to raise tomatoes, had a large garden of them. He gave them to anybody in town who wanted them. Ya small towns ain't too bad to grow up in.
