I have run ear corn into a sixty six off an elevator. It can do it bit not quickly. You shouldn't try to fo it directly. The whole plant would be a nightmare trying to get through the cylinder

i have shell corn with it just had trouble  with the corn going up the canvas

Yeah. That is correct. I think we raised the head as high as we could to minimize the angle.

I run popcorn (smaller than field corn) through my 66 every year, stalk and all. I just keep the head high and I've never had problems with feeding. For field corn you will need to replace the curved cylinder bars with straight ones and make sure the sheet metal on your concave is sturdy enough to handle a cob of corn, if not it will dent and bend your concave.
