B Wheel Tread ??

I was at a friends' place this afternoon and "power shift" width was brought up. He took me out to the cold storage area to show me that the RH wheel/tire was set away from the fender a good 4" farther away than the LH wheel/tire Confused. I took my phone light to take a quick look at how this could be possible and it looks lie 2 different rims?? Is this factory a factory set-up or something to do with moldboard plowing as an option ?? Thanks

Could be that a tire shop mounted the tire backwards to what it should have been and the tractor's owner put the rim on the tractor so that the tread was in the correct direction.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Thanks Paul. In your opinion, the R/H tire/wheel being offset has nothing to do with plowing ?

I owned an "IB" many years ago, that was a former County tractor that had a sickle mower hanging on the right side. They had the right rear wheel set wide and backwards, so when leaning to the right (mowing ditches), if they encountered a wet spongy area, they would hold the left brake hard (uphill tire) and back out of where they drove into using the right reversed wheel. I doubt the right rear wheel needed to be "out" any for a 1-bottom plow. A WD-45 was clear in on 3-14's most of the time.

When I have set up B tractor to use the B/C pickup plows, I generally set the rear wheel tread at the 44-1/2" setting that matches the arched front axle tread setting.  setting the right wheel out would make the plow pull harder and also it would be harder to follow the previous furrow.
  The most likely reasons I could see are either the tire shop messed up or like Dr.A mentioned to help when mowing ditches with a sickle mower.
