Neighbor has a 6060 , said he started it up and the starter stayed engaged, I just put a rebuilt one on it last year- I'm guessing either the key switch or selinoid- any easy way to trouble shoot this one?

But, when the engine started, he released the foot clutch, which if it was the starter switch button, would have cut off that signal. It's the starter.

I'm gonna start with the selinoid- not sure I can do it while the starter is on the tractor tho

On my 6080 it was the key switch.

I had an old ford that the solenoid would stick. Go bang on the right fender and it would shut the starter off. Seemed like it only did it on a first date.
