I have two hydraulic lines at the back of my d-17 and one of them comes from the middle of the tractor transmission area.

What is the purpose of having two lines? Thanks Matt |

Return line from the "Transport Valve".

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Ok, so what's the advantage of having this compared to just a 1 line hydraulic type system

I guess what I'm asking is using that second line necessary on certain implements or what?

The optional "Transport valve" was part of the "Traction Booster" system. If you had a pull type disc or plow (with a special TBoost drawbar), this valve (when adjusted correctly) allowed a certain amount of hydraulic pressure to go to the lift arms first (for increased traction), and then to the hydraulic ram on the implement to lift it for transporting. So many of these valves were never even used for that purpose. They just happened to be added onto the tractor as it was being built in the factory.

Awesome thanks for the info 👍

This would not come into play when using my three blade plow would it? |

Fully mounted? NO.   Semi-mounted or pull type with special drawbar ? YES.
