Does anyone have a service manual for one of these....? Or have knowledge of taking apart the cutter bar gearbox...? My son just bought one for little to nothing, but it did not come without an issue. Looking at the parts book that I have, it appears to have a hex shaft running through it with right angle gears to drive the turtles. Evidently the first gear has some teeth missing, because, if in the right position, you can spin the first turtle without it turning the rest of them. But if you turn the rest of them a little, they'll mesh up and turn together for about one revolution before another "cog slips". LOL. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th turtles all turn properly and stay in good time. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Darrel

I'll ask a friend that worked that era for Allis. He may know who the mtg was if it was not Deutz. I know that peezweegler? Made the first discbinds for deutz, vermeer, hesston, and may have made the disc mower I'm not sure

He said they were German made and parts may be difficult to come by. Suggest calling Ward brothers in North Carolina 828 685 8801. If they can't get it probably have to scrap it.
