looks like the front axle pin is coming out of the front bollister, is the only thing that keeps it in place the bolts in the axle assembly hoop under the engine/trans?

k thanks, i guess I'll have to put some shims in the back and tighten it up some. probaly over an inch of play right now

I would pull that axle out and check that pin for excessive wear. Seeing it has a loader, I would rather have a new pin with lots of metal on it. The bolt at the back of the wishbone will probably have plenty of wear on it too. My local fab shop welds new pins on all of my tractors.

good idea, unfortunately I'll have to wait to pull the front axle i'm in the middle of digging out an embankment, moving the barn (it's on skids) and fixing my fence that the

Depending on how old your tractor is there could be a bushing in the front axle support casting. My early D17 had a grease zerk added to the front casting like the later tractors.

I think it's a 1957, I ran the serial number years ago...have to check again. I know it's old and worn out like me....lol
