D-17 series II factory power steering with distributor driven pump.  Power steering works, but seems weak and I know it isnt working as good as it should.  Fluid is full with universal trans/hydraulic.  What should I start checking?  Thanks!

How cold is it?   Mine all but quits working when it's cold out.  I'm a moron and put 303 in it though.  I've heard that you can use ATF and it isn't as affected by the cold.  5-10 minutes of warming up and I'm usually good to go.
