First I need the "O" (they are not really round) for the fuel line to fuel bowl. Anybody know where I can get just the seals?
Also, where can I get a good price on a lift pump?
Is the pump something that it would make sense to go to the junk yard for? Edited by LouSWPA - 25 Jul 2010 at 12:34pm |

I am still confident of this;

Don't be mad but IHC and Ford are the only good place to get parts for these for the generic stuff like the seals, as to the lift pump are you working on one of the older style 7.3 or are you speaking of the booster pump on the frame rail for the late models?
The actual lift pump '99 and newer is in the fuel tank and Ford specific and yes the yards is a OK place to get one but you will pay darn near to new price to get it. The booster pump I have never heard of issues with other than the o-ring seals from the pump couplers to the fuel lines, ULSD hardens them and they suck air. If it is for an older unit buy it from Ford you won't be amused at the price but the warranty and reliability are unquestionable. Quite a few aftermarket companies as to the 7.3, prices vary widely. |

I agree, ford is probably the best place to get all you need. I have to disagree with the earlier statement, however, the '99 and up super dutys fuel pump is on the drivers side frame rail. many aftermarket companies sell pumps to replace your factory pump, FASS and airdog are a couple examples. Unless you have extensive modifacitons, the factory pump is well sufficient, and will give little trouble. A tank modification and pre pump line mod is required to get all the air from entering your fuel. commonly known as the hutch mod. if your interested just do an internet search as it has been covered alot. otherwise, just put on a new pump and go

Cal is right, if it has an electric lift pump, it's on the frame rail pretty much under the driver's feet. The earlier ones are a mechanical style that has the lift/charge pump as one unit in the valley of the engine. They can be changed without removing the turbo, but it's a bunch easier if you do. I wouldn't get one from a salvage yard. Your Ford dealer will be the easiest place to get the o rings you're looking for.
