Hi guys-I have a chance to get some turf tires for my C that has a Woods Mower on it.
They are only 4 ply...is that a concern? I run without fluid. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks. Terry

heck, riding mower tires are usually only 2 ply BUT what WEIGHT rating are they? Hopefully you can find that out in some chart from the mfr. A C and Woods might be 3000# ?? Someone here WILL know for sure. My gut says that since turf tires only see flat grass under them, that you'd be OK, they're built to float along NOT dig in,so the stress is less. Jay

4 ply is fine for your C. Some of the newer four wheel drive tractors, that are MUCH heavier than a C, use 24" and 28" tires on the front. More weight needs a heavier duty tire.

Back in the 50's, WD45 tractors came with 4 ply 12-28 rear tires. 4 ply tires on a C will be no problem at all. I just bought a pair of 14.9-24 4 ply tires for a WF. Armstrong tread pattern from Titan.

Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives.

My C got new 4 ply general tires back in 1986. It's parked inside but the tires are still good. I've only had a flat twice both times it was from catching the valve stem and ripping it off. You could easily run 2 plies they are just to expensive.
