Ok,what I do wrong? Changed the hydraulic filters in my 7010PS. Left hand no problems. Right hand leaks. Carquest 85256 long filter, put it back together the way it came apart and the oil ring was still in place when I tore back into it.

By the way. The filter I replaced was the same Carquest filter. Still could read the Carquest number on the side.

Before the Dr. tells you, I'll tell you, DON'T Use after market filters in hydraulic of 70 or 80 series tractors.

Did you use new orings? Could have a piece of metal or foreign material under oring.      MACK

IMHO

Its the o-rings that leak.

I've used WIX filters and they are fine.   But...the o-rings are different on the 7000 series compared to the 8000 even though the filters are the same.   WIX uses the same o-rings for both series so that's the problem.

The money saved on aftermarket filters is still worth it to me. (0.70 on the dollar doesn't go that far on AGCO parts)   Just get the o-rings separately or reuse if you're really, really careful.

I dug out the old O ring it does appear to be fine. The CARQUEST 's indeed appear to be Wix filters. Guess I'll break out the calipers and double check the thickness. Funny the left side didn't leak.

Well now. The right hand filter kit only came with one o ring. Apparently the previous also only came with one. Because there was only one in there. How it didn't leak previous is beyond me. So I reused the one old o ring and now everything is tight. I'm still going to do a total oil and filter change with 821 or Hytran before winter. As to price Agco filters are nearly three times as much money as my price(I get shop discount) on CARQUEST filters.
