Thanks in advance! |

Could be in the shop manual:
http://geraldj.networkiowa.com/Trees/Allis-Chalmers-G-B-C-CA-Service.pdf or the operating manual: http://geraldj.networkiowa.com/Trees/Allis%20Chalmers%20G%20Owners%20Manual%20(TM-4A)0001.pdf Gerald J. |

Thanks for those! Both just state "remove the hub cap" - so helpful! Obviously if rust wasn't involved this task would be a non-event.
The caps have a little lip on the top edge...thinking I may be able to fashion a puller to get them off... Edited by sawjinc - 13 May 2018 at 6:35pm |

Using a hammer you can "tap" the cap between the ridge and the end toward the center of the cap moving around the cap- not all tapping at one location. tapping...not beating as this is a press fit

Dad taught us to use a small cold chisel between the lip and the hub. Have to be careful to not punch a hole in the cap. 12 oz ball peen hammer and light tapping is all it takes.
