Looking for help on what injectors are compatible with the hv6...they are in a `49 hd5b with a 271. I have one that sprays and the other not so much. Both tips are corroded and believe that is my main issue. The one that don't spray well is the one I had apart to see if it had water or rust causing it to not spray. Is would like to believe it is back together properly according to the parts catalog diagram but anything is possible. The catalog says it should be a part number 5226710. I found a nos part number 5228310 and wasn't sure of compatibility. Can anyone help...thank you

Detroit injector can easily be repaired by a pump shop.  I would send them out to be checked at least and they can rebuilt if needed.

I believe the cost to have them rebuilt is around 100 each. If I can least get 1 new one for 75 that is compatible with what I already have I can't see it being a bad thing. On older equipment it's a good thing to have extras for those just in case moments...gem how much you wanting for your injectors...are they in usable condition or need to be rebuilt

Seems I am running HV 7 injectors in all my 2-71 engines and have since I started working on them .  Found I could exchange them for rebuilds cheaper than I could work on them myself as I do not have a test stand and such to check them out fully
Interstate Detroit Diesel here and ran them through my account at truck dealership and was a low price - about 1/2 of what I was quoted without going through my account at a dealership

Life lesson: If you’re being chased by a lion, you’re on a horse, to the left of you is a giraffe and on the right is a unicorn, what do you do? You stop drinking and get off the carousel.
