I was cleaning out my Aunt's garage and came across this lawn sprinkler. I showed it to her and remarked in what good condition it is in. She laughed and said: "that's because it never did work worth a hoot".
![]() I really enjoyed seeing a bunch of you fine folks at the swap meet yesterday! Edited by olivetroad - 04 Mar 2018 at 3:29pm |

WHERE are the pics from the swap meet??!!
I wonder what was wrong with it? Ask her why it didn't work. I've never seen one, but they look pretty simple. You should be able to fix it easily enough. Possible problem, water pressure? |

When I was a kid, one of our neighbors had something similar. Theirs looked like a green tractor and was higher.
Theirs was supposed to move along, driven by water pressure, which I think was the same principle of the one you found. Theirs didn't have enough traction to pull the garden hose more than a few feet. I bet they had a similar problem.

I would say that would be correct, hose becomes heavy when containing water. If she would like to sell it, pm me. Or better yet, add it to your collection.

We have a “Rain Train” tractor sprinkler like that. Works great for a while, but when the ground gets wet it will dig itself in a hole and stop. Before I’ve taken 2x6” boards and made sort of a road for it to go on, so it doesn’t get stuck in the mud.
