I just had a 7060 power shift repaired by an independent shop for being exceedingly difficult to shift out of park without the engine off.  It was a small pin in the power shaft to the transmission (or on the forward side) that engaged a casting.  Bother badly worn, so a new pin was ordered and the casting built up.  Solved the problem after several years dealing with it.  Email me at 58-526-5834 and I will provide the contact info if you would like to talk with the mechanic.

You don't say whether the park lever moves ?? or not?   If you haven't removed the floor mat and cab floor, you can't know if the linkage is OK or not. There are 2 cables that control the PARK-LOW-HIGH lever underneath the floor just behind the differential lock pedal. If the lever in the cab moves and it's still in park, the large cable is broken, a cable end is loose or broken, or one of the 2 cable anchors are loose or broken.

I've removed the floor and everything the the linkages are all good the block that shifts the transmission in to park rotates allowing the shifter to slide pass and doesn't shift out of park

Unbolt the 2 bolts retaining the HI-LOW shift fork and wire the fork up out of the way. Remove the shift cover from the side of the range trans housing. Replace the worn square block and the interlock pin between the shifting rails. Been there....dun that.

The shifter block for the neutral to park twists with the shaft that it's mounted on. That allows the shifter to slide in between the two blocks and leaves the tractor in park. Would that be the interlock pins being worn? And if so, where are they located? Thank you for any input

The interlock pin is worn out causing what you are seeing with that square block. I've seen it dozens of times over the years, especially a tractor used for chores.

So the side cover needs to come off and out in order to replace those, correct?

Got it fixed! The pin was worn pretty bad. Got it out, had a new one machined and now it shifts like a dream. Thanks for all the advice!

I might have to check this out. Mine is a pain to shift in and out of park most of the time.

Would anyone know the part number of the pin, so I can order it before I take things apart, since I am ordering intake gaskets today anyhow?

Do I need to take the top cover off in order to unbolt the shift fork before I take the side cover off? My I&T manual is not clear about that.

70265348 for the interlock pin. Cab floor has to come out. Top cover comes off the range trans. Unbolt the fork and lift it up out of the way. CLEAN-CLEAN-CLEAN before removing cover.  Dowel bolts go in the front and rear holes on the shift cover.

Thank you. Sounds like a job to wait until it's warm enough to bring the power washer before I start taking things apart.

Hmmmm, my 7050 the other night wouldn't move in low range. Acted like the floor buttons were stuck in the halfway position but they weren't. Shifted to high range and it moved fine but not in low, not even a hint of moving. At first I thought I broke a cable though it has been shifting perfect all these years ever since I repaired the cable to the lever in the cab 15 or more years ago. The actual lever still shifts easily even when this happened.

BTW 5 minutes after this happened all was well and no trouble since. I wonder if I'm at the start of the same problem?

Not continuing in farm life after High School(1971) and not being exposed to newer, larger tractors, it seems odd to hear about "PARK" on a tractor!  My PARK has always been  NEUTRAL!
