What would be the best size of grain carts for both of these tractors?

Got a 500bu one on our 7045. Drawbar pushed in. 9 weights on the front. If we were to go any bigger, would probably have to do some kind of a drawbar support.

We use a 400bu on on out 75 hp Deutz it is 4 wd and has all the weights on the front of it. We haven't had to run the drawbar up or anything. As of now we have not had any problems out of it.

We used to have a Kinze 800 on a 7030(doubled the drawbar). Remember when grandpa took the drawbar to the ground when it was on his 220 with 850bu of milo on it.

Had our 875 J&M on our 8030 last year it was fine. To play it safe I would be careful of hills.

also depends on if the cart is just gonna be parked to act as a holding bin, or if you are gonna be in the field meeting the combine. not everyone pulls them thru the fields.

Always curious on why the guys with big carts don't have a dolly wheel setup hooked to the cart hitch to take weight off the drawbar, like a tractor trailer pulling doubles hitch, guess itd be a pain in mud

Because you need the weight on the rear wheels of the tractor to get enuff traction to pull it when loaded.

And, you need to be able to back up easily when topping off trucks. A dolly just turned it in to a wagon lol!

We run a John Deere ( I know not orange but in its defense it was made by United Farm tools lol) 1210a grain cart on our 7040. It has wooden sideboards on it so probably holds closer to 450 than 400 and it works fine. Though there are much better balanced and just overall better carts out there. We did put a set of gleaner combine tires and rims on it last year so that makes up for it being green.

There is a nice Brent 474 (I think) with scales and tarp near me (not mine) that is available - I can put you in touch with the owner.

I don't think there's near enough engineering put into these grain cards. Did you ever stop and figure how much weight went into them? And then there's stopping, uneven ground, speed, tractor to weight ratio, there's no end to it. Seems to me a little less weight and a little more safety would be in order. But I understand trying to save or make a dollar because no one is going to do it for you.

I pull an eztrail 510 and also have an old a&l 650t (tandem) and have had them on 7045 and 7060 without doing any modifying of anything and got along fine so far. We don't dump on the go but use them in fields or places we can't get the trucks easily. I go slow and we have flat land. You sure know either one is back there!

Neighbor has a 500 bushel on his 140 HP green tractor, 2 wd and duals with fluid in the inners. I have had the combine drive out from under me going up some hills( cause of wheel slip) when there is over 300 bushel on it. I even had to back down one hill this fall because the sand knob was loose and damp from a recent rain.
I chase the combine all day and have no other problems than the steeper hills and sandy ground. It works good for loading his 520 bushel gravity wagon, but ya about need a funnel to load the 300 bushel rusty wagon or the 300 bushel pup trailer on his pick up.
AND you GOTTA have the auger empty to shut the PTO off or drive anywhere.

If you don’t think a big cart is safe buy a smaller one or don’t fill it all the way. It’s like everything else a little common sense is in order. I highly doubt they need changing
