I just got an I600 forklift running after sitting a couple years. The forks clutch and all that work like it should, but I can't get the steering to work? Where should I start and what should I look for? Thanks in advance.

Obvious place is fluid level. Maybe top up whatever/wherever it needs 'oil'? Assuming power steering..does it even attempt to turn?
It'd be a great idea to get the service manual or maybe someone here can copy/send the 2-3 pages about how the steering works. I have to admit the FPD50 I have here IS a life saver, paid for itself several times over though they do need some TLC once in awhile. Jay |

Check to see if the PS has its own pump. My Hysters do and at times they lose my here prime.

I support the development of hybrid automobiles and alternative fuels as I need DIESEL fuel for my ALLIS CHALMERS!

X2 on fluid level check... Fill port/dipstick is in back of radiator, big plug/vent on right, as you stand behind it

Just thought I would share, the problem ended up being the feed line to the steering under the tractor had come unhooked and was leaking all the fluid out. Got it all back together and it's working good!
