The AC called me back. This WD45 caught my eye.  It's expensive, but I was wondering what all the snap coupler implements are.  Can someone take a peek at this ad and tell me?  I can see the plow and cultivator, but what are those things on the pallet?  Is this overpriced?  Just curious.  Here is the link: http://ocala4sale.com/classifieds/17508019133.php
Thanks much.

I cant tell what the yellow thing is? But looks like a factory three point hitch, and maybe a mower, couple plows. If the rest of the tractor is as good as it looks, I dont think it is expensive, jmho, Trev.

If I am seeing correctly it has a straight gear shift which would mean it is a WD not a 45. Nice paint job but not PO1. Looks like part of a sickle bar mower and part of a 3 point hitch set up on one  pallet and a 48 inch belly mower on the other. Has it had a complete restoration or just a fresh paint job? He could very well have over the asking price in it but unless you want it real bad $2500 would be top dollar.

The WD-45 did not come out until 1953.  We had one of the last WD's, it was a 1953, it had the curved shifting lever.

Sickle bar mower.  Thanks Hubert.  Can anyone tell if it's a WD or WD45 for sure?  I don't know these models.

I can't see a plate on the side of the block, so I'm leaning towards WD45.

It has the 226 block of the 45 and the governor of a 45. I doubt it's a 52 model year. 53 or later I wold say unless the engine was swapped out.

Looking at the photo that includes the whole tractor, it appears to have the curved shifter. Pretty hard to tell for sure. That'd go with the other WD45 clues.

Steve,
Welcome back! It has 45 decals. Some of the engine items look correct for a 45. Implements don't look that great to me. Te tractor by its self should be $2500 if it runs and drives good. Sheet metal looks pretty good.
Regards,
 Chris

Thanks Chris.  My hiatus didn't last long.  My previous modus operandi was to buy basket cases and work my tail off (and spend a ton) to bring them back to life.  Now, I'm looking for better tractors to start with.  I noticed you've been away too.
Best,
Steve

Looks like a WD45 to me bent shifter, block, gov.
WD45 new paint, Looks like new tires all the way around with new rear rims, new manifold and muffler, power steering, new steering wheel, $2,000 to $3,000.  80-R mower $200. to $400. factory AC three point to SC $150. to $200. #53 plow $100.  The old mower ? 100. maybe. That's one nice looking old WD45 to me. I'd go look and drive the tractor.
3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.

Don,
Thanks for your assessment.  I called about the tractor.  He said he bought it restored in Missouri about 9 months ago.  His bottom dollar price without the implements was $3400.  I may go look at it and make a lower offer if it's as nice as it looks.

If he has only had it 9 months I would wonder why he is wanting to sell it. Nice profit or found something wrong with it?

Steve,
You know it costs a bunch to restore one. If it is really as nice as the close up looks, it may be worth $3,000. If that is what you want? Don and others are about right on the costs of the extra implements. Start firmly at $2500 for the tractor. You need this!:)
 Regards,
 Chris

I agree that it costs a lot to do a restoration. The problem is that people have different ideas of what constitutes a "restoration".

To me a restoration is taking everything apart, replacing worn parts and making sure everything is in good condition. To some people, a restoration is a coat of paint.

If it's a true restoration, it is very expensive and it makes the tractor worth a lot more. Sometimes a coat of paint is just to cover up leaks and problems.

Tramway,
I was thinking the same thing. That WD45 decal just doesn't look correct at all.
Steve, did you bring this tractor home yet! You need it!
