I have a D17 series III.  I'm trying to figure out where I would plumb a return line for hydraulic fluid.  There is a bolt right in front of the clutch pedal, but I'm not sure if that is the right place to plumb the return.   Any help would be appreciated.

When I restored my SerIV, I added the tapped hole that's to the left of the existing return line for any future need.
So, I'd think what you're referring to will work fine.
It's a hex pipe plug and should come out easily with an Allen wrench

If the return is for the loader, make certain that there's enough room in the sump for it, otherwise the oil will come out of the fill plug.

How about replacing the elbow on the existing return line with a male pipe branch tee.
