How good does a spike tooth run stump cutting fescue? Ran several machines but new to spike teeth. What are some opinions?

My guess is I don't think it will thrash the heads out good. Not in grass seed country, but don't you have to run cylinder as close to concave as possible in grass?    MACK

Well , yes it WILL work in fescue , but only if your have the 4 row spike filler as came from the factory and grate covers . Run the cylinder as close to 0 as possible and at about 900 =   It will work...about 90% as well as a rasp bar - with much more capacity.
When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money..

So other than capacity is there any benefit? I have access to a complete throat with like new rasp bars. Should I change over or leave it alone. Not sure what fillers you are talking about. I was told today that I could have problems plugging up. Was told by another that spike tooth was the way to go. All a matter of opinion I guess.
