Without going into great detail , has anyone added anything to their hundred series grilles such as cable lanyards to keep them from mystersly unlatching when you are discing after dark by the moonlight and find it ran over by a dual at the end of the field where you turn , to only have a great day turn completely around? I would think that 2 cables inside fastened to give it enough room to be tilted out to unlatch a snaplatc on each side would keep this from happening.... AGAIN. Any other ideas or fixes? By the way my latches seem good. Thanks Scott

On the pulling tractor, we use a couple of zip ties thru the screen and thru/around the square hood holes up at the top. Yes, you have to cut the zip tie to remove it, but it never falls off and gets run over (or disqualified).

There are 3 ways to do job GOOD, FAST, CHEAP. YOU MAY CHOOSE 2. If its FAST & CHEAP it won't be GOOD, if it's GOOD & CHEAP it won't be FAST, and if its GOOD & FAST it won't be CHEAP!!!!

2 eye bolts and a bungy cord, might not look great but it'll look better than a flat grille,

I bolt them on with metal straps behind the sheet metal, one on each side, only thing that shows is 7/16 bolt heads on the outside, better then a smashed grill. Either weld nuts to the metal straps or tap threads into them.

For now I put the zip ties on the latches but I got stainless cable and plates that I will add to it. Matt , I was able to straighten it way better than I ever thought, thanks to all, Scott

Nasty thing to happen Scott. I have used zip ties as well . Also found a source of new SS latches exactly the same from an industrial supplier. Have a spare grill since I found a better one for my 210. Too wet here yet after 4" last week. Two more days!

My 190 has two sheet metal screws on each side going into the flange the grill seats on. I didn't notice them until I unlatched the grill and it didn't come off.

I can tell what we did...drill a hole through the middle of the grill into to brace behind it....then run a threaded bolt through the brace and secure it....you can then use a wingnut and washer on the outside to "safety" the grill....we put two on these on the loader tractor which takes lots of abuse..Mark

What I did with my 210 was drill straight through between 2 slots in the grille to the front hood crossbar. (The 3 oblong holes behind the grille). I then put 2 bolts from the inside out facing the grille locktited in added a couple fender washers and then 2 air cleaner nuts on the outside of the grille. It turned out nice, kinda hard to describe can take pics and send them if you want to see. I have done this to all our 100/200 series except the 200. The zip tie trick works well too. I use zip ties on my 200 and all the deck plate battery box cover latches
