Alright I have a shot in the dark question. Grump and I have a 7010 powershift sn 3208, we are looking for a little more horse. We are thinking along the lines of a 7045 or 7050. Here is my question would it be feasable to do a 426 swap and if so will the powershift in the 7010 take the torque of the 426 and the 30 ish horse Im looking for. Im thinking the chassis is universal for all the 7000 series other than the axles. Any help will be appreciated

i'd just buy another tractor rather than tear up a good one, and possibly keep having problems after switching stuff around!

The 7010 power shift trans is the same because of your serial number, they took out some discs and plates a few numbers after yours. The rear housing is for all intents and purposes the same, except for what they put in it. The 7045 has a heavier duty ring gear carrier, 2 vs. 4 pinion gears. The final drives are also beefier in the 7045.
Is it possible, yes, fairly simple bolt up actually, but you will also need the stuff up front. Bigger air cleaner, bigger radiator, ect. and unless you are really pulling it hard, the rear should hold up. I am with shameless, you should be able to find a 7040 fairly cheap, if you really want the 7045 or 7050, the 50 will typically be cheaper. You won't find a power shift in a 7050 though. You can if you look find a good deal on a 7060 still. Just boils down to how much time or money you want to spend.

You could sell your 7010, then buy a 7060 and have some change left in your pocket to buy the extra fuel it will burn. MACK
