Hello,  brand new to the forum

Bought a allis chalmers tractor, I don't know the size or year but have what i think is a ser. # 247876-03 A. The person I bought it from thought it to be an early 70's ? I tried to look up the numbers and have had no luck finding ser. #'s that new?  Its a four cyc. gas tractor, which ran for about an hour before the carb started leaking everywhere.

I am trying to identify the model so I can buy a new carb, the previous owner said he has had the old one rebuilt many times, and I want new and be done with it.

Thanks in advance for any help. I will post pics when I can figure that out.  Chris

Most likely a 170 or 175 could be a 190 you need to look at the bell housing where engine and torque tube come together should be stamped there on left side of tractor top of bell housing!

I can't figure out the pic post ?? but I did find the numbers on the bell housing which is about the only area that I did not clean.... the numbers are 170 8078  so I am assuming its a 170 like you thought Craig. Would I dare guess the 80 78 is the 8th month of 1978?

Thanks for the help, this is my first real tractor to use for odd jobs around the property
