Bought a socket from OReillys-just had to massage it a little on the lathe to make it work. Should get it back together tomorrow, hopefully. Where did you order one from?

The socket is from OTC 1931. I will try to get a picture next couple days. Does anyone know how the oil hole in the stationary shaft is supposed to be oriented? Up, down, or horizontal? TIA.

Lynn- that looks like it would be heavy duty! Do you know where that hole in the hollow shaft has to be positioned? I forgot to mark that when I took the 12 bolts out.

I see no mention of positioning the oil hole in the service manual. If it was mine, I would probably put it at a 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock location rather than just straight up or down.

Thanks, after closer examination it looks like it was probably about 9 or 10 o'clock. Will your socket work with the shaft poking through? Mine will only work with the shaft removed. May have to do a little remodeling to make it work better!
