New to Allis G. The oil filter mount is not tight in the block. I don't find any method to secure it. Is it just a press fit into the block? Has anyone had this situation and if so, what would be a good solution?
I think JB Weld may be a little to permanent in case the mount broke and had to be replaced. Thanks, Kent Edited by K-Mo - 28 Sep 2016 at 10:38am |

Go ahead and pull it out, stake it with a punch all the way around, then re-set it in the hole with a mallet and a wood block. It should be fine, you could also set it with some green loctite, but get it where you want it before it sets.

Good suggestions. I like the Loctite idea. I'll check the specs on the green. If I remember correctly some Loctite formulas can be loosened with a specified amount of heat.
I think the oil filter mount is pot metal. It would be my luck to break it while trying to use a punch on it and drive it into place. Thanks |

you don't have to hit it hard, you're just trying to give it some bite in the hole

Don't use the Loctite ,get the Right Stuff ,it will seal it and help hold it .Still stake it |
