Topic: CA rear rims - 10" or 12"Posted: 24 May 2010 at 9:11am |

My rear rims were about shot when I bought my 1952 CA over 20 years ago, but the right side finally gave out yesterday. I need to buy two new rims. My present tires have printed on the side "12.4x24 on 11" rim 11-24". I've seen 10" and 12" wide rims for sale. Mine appear to be just under 12" wide when measured from the far outside. I've heard some say they should be measure from the inside where the bead sets. If so, they would be about 11" (which seems odd). Any suggestions? I'll probably go with 12" unless I hear major objections. The only thing this tractor does is have a Woods L-306 belly mower on it. |

Hi Brian! The CA rims are 10" on the inside shoulder to shoulder. On the tire size charts, they say you need to have the rim narrower than the tire to have good holding force so as to not rotate or slip the tire on the rim. I have 2 sets of tires & rims for my CA. A newer set of 11.2 X 24 on 10" rims and a worn set of 13.6 X 24 on 12" rims for doing some EXTRA playing with!!!

Hi Brian & CA Ron
I am going to try to do some pulling this year in the 3500 & 4000 lb class.
I have the tires mounted on the rims and extra wheel centers. They are not on the CA yet. Maybe in a week I will have them on the tractor & take some photos to see how they work out! Brian, bring your Sub soiler up to the AC Jamboree this year!

Dad put 13-24's on the CA right after he sank into plowed ground trying to disc with it way back in the 50's. They stayed on it till I had a blow out in 98. Filled with fluid they made plowing a breeze. I think I might have a picture on my old PC. The 13-24 would be the same as a 14.9 today.

I am restoring a 1952 CA. Does anyone have 10x24 spin out 4 rail rims for sale or know a good source for me to get them?
