My brothers father in law is looking at this tractor. its currently priced at $4800. im not familiar with D15's but it looks like a very nice series 2 and im guessing he is in the ballpark on price with some room to haggle.

For the shape and hours on it, that is a good price in my book! Good rear tires and rims and clean straight 3 point tractor, you better snag it up.

2nd the snapping it up comment. If hours are anywhere near what is on the tach, nice FS rubber, minimal pedal wear and the fact that nice clean 3-pt. units do not show up very often.
I will easily put that kind of money into one of my Series II units when she get's the going through treatment and they are very handy units for the size. |

The engine is nice and peppy. Pretty good on gas, starts great cold
3rd to reverse gets lot of wear. Check that out. Check for PD "snap" PTO is not independent Dad has had his since new in 1968 and it has been a great tractor.

That is a decent price for the tractor. I paid $3500 for a nice original one with 3 point this winter and it needs new rear tires so with the nice rears on this one I would say that's a good price, grab it up!

The D15 is much more comfortable! 8 speeds! I'd say it compares very favorably to the 45 field wise. I'd take the 15 over a 45 any day.

Nebraska has the D15 close to 1,000 lbs ahead pulling wise while using the same fuel.

Looks like it is running at idle in the picture. Oil pressure may be a little low.

Looks to be a nice tractor for the price and condition. A word of caution on those 3pts; Be sure to always keep the mounting bolts tight. The poor design of the early and smaller tractors 3pts did not bolt on with the bolts in different directions and will work loose with things like a brush-hog or something where there is a lot of turning stresses.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

For a good clean straight tractor that is a fair price. If it were closer to me I would grab it up. I love my D 15.

What Paul said... Check all the bolts that mount the 3 point, they all go up, from underneath. Gravity and stress cause them to loosen...

As hard as it is to find D-15 Ser II sheet metal I would snatch it up .Series II stuff is expensive and hard to come by . Practically all the sheet metal is different than the series I . I am not saying to part out that sharp looking tractor , but there is value there . I paid around 4 grand for mine as that one is in better shape.
The D-15 Ser II with the 160 CI engine is a great combination as long as it is used as intended . If you use it for the same jobs as a D-17 you will be stressing things past their limits . |

20 years ago I paid $5000 for an identical 1967 original 2200 hr. tractor with 3 pt ,new rear tires, pulley, and power steering. It's a deal. D-15 ll is a sweet running tractor.
This one is an earlier year. Edited by Calvin Schmidt - 11 May 2016 at 8:31pm |

Good looking tractor, looks like it was painted in the past, tires look good, solid and straight sheet metal and the 3 point is not beaten up and welded. I would try to get it closer to 4 though.
