I have one of the WD's made at the end of the model run which was fitted with a WD45 rear end.  Serial number is WD but it has the curved shifter and a WD45 rear end.  My problem is with my PTO.  It is always on and will not disengage.  Any help, suggestions, etc. would be appreciated.

First thing to check is set screw on lever going into PTO box. Could be loose or gone. If not that, not hard to drop box and look inside.     MACK

Thanks.  Have checked and set screw good.  I guess I will have to drop it and take a look as suggested but I hope the problem will be obvious since I am not sure what I will be looking for.  I see the pictures in the manuals but not sure what would be causing the problem.  Probably a good thing to get inside and get an education anyway.  Thanks again.

See if someone can post a picture of where the arm should be with the PTO disengaged. I've seen the set screw come loose and the shaft gets off enough that it won't work right.

Good idea.  I will check out if I can turn the shaft with the set screw loose to see if it will get to a position where it will work or if I do have something going on inside the PTO.  Thanks.

See pages 238,239,and 240 of the attached link.

The Gear item 7 slides on the shaft to engage and disengage the PTO.

It may be seized to the shaft,

Gary

Thanks.  Very informative, good exploded view, and parts listing.
I noticed you are located in Peterborough, ON. and have to say I spent a week in your fine town taking a strip canoe building class from Ted Moore at Bear Mountain Boats.  Enjoyed the city, the lift  lock, and had a nice time altogether.
Again thanks for the link and info. on my PTO problem.
