Whats the smallest tractor that can successfully run an All Crop 90?

Does a 90 take a lot more power to run than say a 66?

Thanks in advance.

My "CA" handled the "90" just fine in weedy oats. The horse power of my "CA" is around 29hp. That is right at the low limit of HP to be running a #90 All-Crop.

The "WD" would be the smallest in the "W" series.

The D-14 would be the smallest in the "D" series.

CA can handle it so long as no amount of hill in the field. The power unit option for it was a D-14 engine.

Good morning back in 1965 dad replaced the 1954 Allcrop 66 with a used Allcrop 90 that we used our Oliver 550 gas to operate. The 550 would operate all day long on a tank of gas 10.4 gals plus one could operate mainly in 2 nd gear (2.2 mph) but in a heavy crop one could use 1 st gear at 1.5 mph. In a poor crop one could operate in 3 rd 3.4 mph. Some times we would use the D17 or WD but the Oliver was the cheapest to operate then one of the Allis tractors could be running the MF #3 baler which is still in operation .

Norm Swinfords book shows the information. It's also in my operators instructions for D-14 auxiliary motor used with 90 all crop harvester form TM-190.

i run a 180 gasser on my 90 just because of the size and we have some nasty hillsides round here. But a good old WD or WD45 is sufficient. I also like the hydraulics better on the 180

The WD and WD45 have plenty of power, those are the two engines used in the SP100 and super 100.
