Anybody bale with new new holland 5070 with thrower. Doesn't seem to throw bales far enough. Was told to change pump pully to smaller pully to spin it faster. Wandering if anybody else ran into this
Thanks |

Mike,
we use a 5070. We can clear the wagon very easily with the belts on high. The smaller pulley sounds like a possibility, but could it be something else? Are the thrower jaw springs tight? If the upper belt springs are too loose, it will not give it the extra push. A neighbor had a 575 with thrower, and his upper springs were broken, and it could not get speed enough to send it far. My book says the roll drive belt spring should measure 11 inches between hooks. The book also gives these possibilities: PTO speed to low PTO slip clutch set too light Pump drive belt set too loose Throwing belt too loose Throwing belt roll speed too low. (test hydraulic system with a flow meter and pressure gauge. The book also showed the following problem: Trows bales too Far, will not load front of wagon. One Possible cause is stated as Throwing belt speed range too high: Correction says to Install shims between the sheave halves of the sheave on the motor. So perhaps you have shims installed, that need to be removed???? Hope this helps. John
