It runs fine but 10 after it is turned off it has to be primed with the hand pump to get it started. I assume it is the fuel line but wondering if there is something else to look for.

Are your bleeder valves tight? Injector lines tight? Our's would lose prime after a week but not that quick.

I have a maroon belly 7060 and it started to have a long crank time after setting, sometimes as little as 3-4 hours after shut down. It was really bad when it would get down to 1/4 or 1/2 tank. I rebuilt the primer pump, parts from injpumped, works perfect now.

Try changing the rubber fuel hoses they will get tiny cracks and let air in.

If I read it right that it will not start after being shut off for 10 minutes, check the fuel cap. If it looses prime that quick, the tank has a vacuum. Also there is two check valves in primer pump. If some trash gets in one of them it will loose prime. MACK

It was supposed to say 10 seconds. It will not start only 10 seconds after shut down without priming hand pump. Thanks for the replies, I am going to replace primer pump regaurdless it leaks when I pump it. I will look into it after I get my starter back.

If it don't start after 10 seconds, you have a different problem. Either delivery valve is not seating or pump head is worn out. MACK

Thanks Mack
Sounds like something for the professionals. I know very little about injection pumps. Leon B |

so it will actually start by pumping the primer? If it does, then the injection pump should not be the main culprit. It may be tired, have worn transfer pump liner and blades, but if it will actually restart immediately after shut off, then it's a plumbing/supply issue. Once running, it runs just fine? or erratic governing? low power?

Runs smooth, power ok, exhaust is darker than I like but runs fine after starting. I've only had this tractor for about a year so I don't know any history.

My 220 did the exact same thing and the fuel filter would be empty, I took the line off and blew air back into the tank and it's fine now. Still don't have a clue how it could run and not lose power when the filter wasn't full.????
