HELP 655 transmission input seal?

   I have a 655 ac loader I bought mostly in buckets. I replaced the main shaft in the transmission and the front housing that holds the seal. The housing had deep groves cut from the clutch rings. My problem is that the seal blew shortly after I started to use it. It overfilled the transmission with fluid from the touque housing and red fluid began to drip out both steering clutch housings, this was bypassing the axle seals. The input seal actually blew to the side of the torque housing. A large chunk rolled to the torque tube side. There would be no actual pressure against the seal because the transmission is well vented. The other problems I found was that I had missed installing the snap ring on the imput shaft that quarantees the clutch will not move back. I do not believe this was what caused the seal to blow because there is no evedence that the rear of the clutch pak touched the seal or the housing holding it and the stescrews and balls were tight. I also found the needle bearing in the tubine shaft had ground up which was fine when I assembled it, (I thought). This is way to much work to take chances on. Has anyone experinced anything like this or have any information for me?

	AC-Mike: I have some AC Service information on the Power Shuttle Clutch Valve but nothing specific to the transmission input. It does cover some specific information on Clutch pressures and settings. I think if we could find out who manufactured the torque converter that we might be on the right path to solving. Does the area where the seal resides need to be machined or was that OK?

	orangeman, Seal area fine, it runs on the main transmission input shaft. I do not understand your mention of the torque converter, I am on the opposite end of the torque tube next to transmission. I do have factory parts and service manuals, but I quess I am looking for someone that knows more about this than I do. Any help is appreciated!!!!!

	Call Ken (don't know his last name) at Advance Construction in Kitchener, Ontario. He knows this model inside out. I have one and he has told me how to do specific repairs and how to bend screwdrivers to remove the steering clutch lock springs over the phone and he has always been correct. He was around when they came out new...

	Amos, I called Advance Construction and was told Ken had retired several years ago. He was also experiencing medical issues and would probably not be able to help with any information. Thanks anyway
