I’m curious why it a D-14 manifold wouldn’t work? Carburetor size?

The D10/12 manifold are pricey no matter where they are from. The D10/12 manifold sets very close to the head much like the B,C,CA manifold. The D14/15 manifold sets out from the head much further and won't allow the holes in the hood to line up with the exhaust and the air cleaner won't fit.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.

I have a couple of used ones, one would be an easy repair. One port would need to be built up with weld.  $50 shipped to you if you are interested in going that route.  I can send pictures.

A manafold on 14 will work, but the air cleaner tube will not line up with the hole on hood.
