Had the mast carriage bearings fail on my lift..........thankfully nothing on it at the time. Really freaked me out. Forks dropped about 2 feet while up high!!
 I have a parts manual for my FTB 30-24 propane lift, finding the bearings was a real PIA.
Komatso who bought out Allis wanted $350 per bearing!!
 I allegedly have (4) coming now at $80, We'll see if they are the right ones and let you know

Yikes.. how the heck does that happen ? Like, WHY did it drop ?? BAd enough I don't have great brakes now you got me paraoid about 'lift bearings'...

Was raising it empty at about max lift ? boom the forks dropped to an angle cause the 2 top bearings failed, when I removed the carriage I saw the bottom 2 were shot also!!
 I have a platform that I use on he lift as a manlift, glad I was not on it when they failed.............probably would have fallen off the platform!!

Think at that price i would be looking at modifying cam followers to replace those bearings or making up some bearings from brass oil-lite bushings .
 Son bought a old fork truck and replaced bearings on bottom side with ball bearings on made up spindle shafts he turned on my lathe
