I am looking to find out if anyone here has any experience/ recomendations for a fleet maintenance software that I could use to keep track of maintenance that is done for a small municipality.
We have equipment ranging from lawn mowers to Caterpillars and Excavators and have no records at this time. Thanks, John.

I support the development of hybrid automobiles and alternative fuels as I need DIESEL fuel for my ALLIS CHALMERS!

John....I had one of those software programs, then when my puter took a dump, I lost all those records, no I didn't download onto a disk, should I have? yeah! so I installed it again on the new puter. first it had an update, and that sent my program into never never land somewhere, never did find it again. then the next puter was my laptop, and it was installed on that, then that puter went haywire and I lost the program again. it was a very expensive program, and with the chit puters we get now, I won't waste my time loading it again! get a file cabinet, get a notebook for each piece of equipment and go from there. make one person in charge of the notebooks!

If you're handy that way you could use excel to create your own. Just remember to backup to a external hard drive and or thumb drive. The hardest part will be to automate the files for equipment that goes by miles for maintenance. I guess by hours will be hard as well. A item that might help is the guide in owners manuals that show what needs to be done at how many miles, from minor stuff to major.

At work we use Fleet Maintenance Pro. I don't remember which version. I wanna say 14.2. It keeps track of all maintenance including fuel. Alerts when a service is coming due.
