I am looking at buying fl10c track loader off of my cousin but it stopped steering left or right all at the same time. He left someone borrow it and the guy had it stuck in the mud and after that it won’t steer and the brakes stopped working. My question is what could have happened? I don’t think both clutch’s would have went out at the same time. Did anyone else ever have this problem?

We've got a FA 10 and the workshop manual covers 10Bs as well.  So given that - 

The steering clutches and brakes are run by one pump - on a plain 10 it is a single pump, on a 10B I think it is one side of a double pump - I can check if needed.

That you've lost all three I'd reckon the problem is hydraulic and not mechanical.

That pump gets oil from the bevel gear housing and there is a filter under the floor under your left boot.  

So first I'd check that the bevel case has enough oil in it.  There is a dipstick under a plug rear top.   And check the filter.  Likely a washable mesh one.  And if it is low on oil you're supposed to run the engine in short bursts till it primes.

If things are working properly you should feel the brake pedal pulsate when pressed hard.   Ours has an hydraulic shut-off to apply parking brakes - yours might be more modern and spring set.  And I can't fire ours up for a reminder of what else that shuts down as it is apart for a final fix.

We've had gear selection problems from mud in the transmission guard from being bogged but not brake problems.  You will have to drop the trans guard to get at the plumbing in there.  You need to be able to lift the rear end over the diagonals when putting it back (dozer - never even seen a loader) - we put down a steel sheet and then balance it on a trolley jack so you can move, lift and tilt.

 Other questions I'll try and answer.
