Just purchased a 33 hp Kubota diesel tractor and now want to get a new 3pt finish mower for it. I have looked at the King Kutter ones at Rural King 5ft and they run around $1350. The dealer where i bought my tractor sells Land Pride 5ft ones for around $2000. Besides for price what is the difference between the mowers? I want a decent mower that will last me a while. Not mowing a ton of acres by no means, but a few. Let me know your experiences. Thanks Steve-Ohio

Spend a little more and get the landpride or woods! After selling many brands of them over the years, I prefer Landpride for many reasons. Our current LP finish mower is over 15 years old and still on orginal spindle brgs and wheel brgs. We have hit and busted a couple spindles but we keep it greased every week on wheels and once or twice a month on spindles. If you mowed with both (or any of lower cost ones) you would see the difference in them!

I have a 7' King Kutter that I bought used 8 years ago, and the only things I've replaced are spindle bearings. I attribute that to previous owner not keeping them greased, because I grease every other time that I mow. It's been a good mower for me.

I bought a king kutter (brush hog, not a finish mower) and used it for 7 years until the farm shut down, the neighbor bought it and is still using it. we cut 10 acres of hay and used it to cut another 2 acres of just scrub brush. I only wish I would have known they had a brush hog that has a hay side. I guess there is a plate you can take off so the hay comes out the side.

I've used a 5' King Kutter for the last 5 years and it mows great and I have not had one single issue with it.
I mow about 2 acres.

We have two Land Pride finish mowers. Both are 6 ft. One is probably 15 years old, the other is maybe 8. We picked up the second one because a friend was getting rid of it for a price that was too good to pass up and we wanted something in case the older one went belly up. I guess we will have two for a long time, cause they are built great and do an awesome job. We cut 6 or 7 acres from spring to fall and have had no trouble. Have only replaced blades and belts as needed. Take Care, Rick |

I bought a year old Woods 6' RD72 last year and am disappointed with it. The wheels are the solid rubber type which is ok, but the wheels use bushings instead of bearings and I've gone thru 3 wheels already.

I use a Bush Hog model ath99. It is a 7 1/2 ft. finish mower. It is one heavy dude. Not cheap. I had a Keen Kutter, had to work on it all of the time. Bending blades, trying to keep air in tires equal. The Bush Hog has never bent a blade and in ten years have only had to sharpen twice. Tires are solid, no scalping.

I use a 72" woods. I would not buy anything smaller if I were you. Woods is probably the best in my mind, but if I bought another my main point of interest would be if it's rear discharge. Rear discharge, the greatest improvement made to finish mowers in years!
