There is a topic on a different forum about harvesting H/M corn with a conventional Gleaner(M2). Some are saying the fillers go on/over the concaves, but I thought the "fillers" went between the cylinder bars? Can someone clarify? Thanks

you are correct.....they lay on the leading? edge of the bar and clamp against it....been too long but would know if I went to put them in. Used them in some hard threshing corn years ago. They have holes that circle the bar bolt heads to help keep in place. Does the book show them installed? Edited by SteveM C/IL - 26 Nov 2019 at 8:34pm

Thanks Steve, but if your referring to our O/M, it's at the farm. I thought perhaps an F and M/L series had different "fillers".
There is something in the Parts Book called a "lap bar" ? Edited by FREEDGUY - 26 Nov 2019 at 8:47pm

don't know why they would be different. Everything else is same cept for open concave. Rasp bars are  same only different lengths. The fillers are supposed to give more area to roll cobs on  to help rub kernals off cob. Edited by SteveM C/IL - 26 Nov 2019 at 8:43pm

There was some filler plates for M&L that went on concaves, but they were for clover and real small grain.        MACK

Maybe I should have tried my filler bars instead of adding 3rd concave? Forgot all about them. Cracked a lot of corn this fall.

Filler bars in corn is still thee best way to harvest. Cylinder can be run slower and everything gets shelled off, because nothing slips between the cylinder bars. No one wants to take the time to do it and then there's the back and forth between soybeans and corn...……….

After installing the  after market wide-spaced bars(Kuchner?) on our F2, There is really no room to install filler bars  .I had a very hard time getting the last cylinder bar fastened
