ORDERING INFO ON TOP OF PAGE 2

While I'm in the tractor painting mood I was wondering if anyone has seen any of the Farm Commando decals floating around. I figured if I was going to make the WC pretty I might as well go all out and put the Farm Commando decals on it. I always loved the Farm Commando ads and I don't think I've ever seen another tractor with the decals on them.

Here are the Farm Commando ads. I read in the first ad that the decal was a red eagle on a blue background with white text.

Lyle Wacker had them available a while ago, I think he advertised them on here, but  I don't know if he still has them.

I don't know if Lyle has them, but according to his ad in OAN, his contact info is (402) 582-4874 or email dodgeboy@plvwtelco.net . let us know if he has them.  I would be interested too.

I know Lyle did have them, and I bet he still does.  His decals are as authentic as they get, only place I will buy them from.

We had an RC that had the original sticker on it. He took measurements of it and had new ones recreated. You might have to talk to his wife, lyle's health has not been the best lately.

I didn't know that this decal was also put on the RC. I bought one from Lyle along with decals for my G but planned to put it on my WC, which has not been painted. Now I'm thunking about putting it on my RC, which has been restored. Bob@allisdowneast

Those decals were put on any AC that rolled through the shop during the war.

You know, that was one of my jobs in WWII.  I attached the Farm Commando Decal to all tractors we serviced during WWII.  Can't tell you how important that made me feel.  I was "fitin the war".
Good Luck!

This is neat, and a part of our history.  Neat to learn about, I never seen this before.

If Lyle doest have them anymore, I can duplicate them if someone has a fairly clear image and the length or height of one.

I can't for the life of me find a picture of one of those decals. I sure hope somebody can. If Lyle don't have any I have bought several things from Split51 in the past and I know first hand that his stuff is about the best you can get. You will not be disappointed.

I'm willing to loan mine to be reproduced, but only if Lyle or his family is not selling them any more. Lyle took the time and effort to make these available for us and I believe that they should be bought from him if he still sells them. I'll make a call Monday and post the result. Bob@allisdowneast

I find this so interesting, I may have to get one of these for whenever I get to restoring my styled 1941 WC, which is the only tractor I have that is old enough for this I guess.  Whoever ends up checking out decals, please keep us posted.

So Bill, Where did you end up putting them on the tractor?  Was there a specified "spot" or just wherever?  On the rear fender like the picture above?  Where would you have put it on my Styled WC?  I love it when we can have first hand knowledge of such things like this, thanks for sharing Bill!

Bill Long,

I've always wanted to meet you and I hope one day I may be able to.  I think you should write a book.  You have a lot of knowledge and experiences that would be great to see in one book.  Just my .02

Fellas, I tried to access the Wacker's websites with no luck. I called Steve Wacker's number listed in their latest Old Allis News ad and left a message. When I get a call back, I'll let you know what I have found out. Bob@allisdowneast.

PS Byron, I think you have a great idea. I have had the pleasure of meeting Bill Long and hope to again soon. A book authored by him would be a treasure.

I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not sure.

That is so darn cool, i'm going to go buy a tractor old enough to put one on, and  order extras so I have an excuse to get more tractors!LOL!
Mr Bill, thank you for sharing all of the first-hand info that you have. It's really a treasure for those of us too young to remember the heyday of AC and the other industries that made this country great.
I didn't do it! It was a short, fat, tall, skinny guy that looked like me!
