Cut it down. Not as hard as it looks. I've cut several down.          MACK

Would it be easier to put the mount from a 13 ft f2 on a k or k2 head?

I always felt Gleaner could have made the K/F(K2/F2) 10’,12’,13’,& 15’ headers interchangeable. The A330/338 black cornhead was interchangeable(maybe A430/438 too?), but none of the cutter-bar platforms.
Swapping an F/F2 opening in place of a K/K2 opening shouldn’t be too difficult? But actually the F/F2’s lower openings heavy gauge metal transition is the only thing required. The K/K2 header’s top hook’s mount holes could be unbolted, slid out for F/F2, then it’s new mounting holes re-drilled/tapped, same with K/K2’s left/right vertical supports, cut down K/K2’s header drive sprocket shaft, but the K/K2’s lower transition would require a few added fabrication sheets of metal widening it to allow for F/F2.
Personally, I wouldn’t ruin any good F/F2 13’ header by removing its opening.
Of course, I don’t think the K/K2’s 10’ headers lower pan support frame would require widening? Might though for any wider headers?

That's my issue also , the head I got with the combine is a flex and been abused. With a little love it will run and I only have a few acres of grain each year and could use a pull type but don't won't to store one. I try to keep my equipment in the dry every night and a 10 ft head would be a plus it seems. I sold the head with my k2 so I guess the search begins for a deasent 10 ft one. I'm going to try the 13 this year but likely will not be fun. If anyone has a useable 10 ft head let me know. Thanks

Mack, the head I got now is probably not worth the time and effort. Its so rough I have to wear goggles and gloves just to look at it!
