I found a real nice Gleaner F2 coming up on an auction near me. It is a late 70's early 80's model. It has around 2000 seperator hrs on it. It is the Chevrolet 6 cyl gas engine, headers to be sold separately. Any idea what it's worth? Thanks in advance.

Depending on condition I would say around $2000 in good shape.  Gas are not real desirable.  We bought a gas F2 with a corn head for a little less than $2000, needed the head, and that combine is a parts donor to our F2 Diesel.

I bought a '77 (6cyl 301) F2 diesel in 03 with 2400hrs black 4-30 and 13ft platform for $5000. Ive been running it ever since with very little trouble. Ive also bought a '78 F2 diesel in '07 (6cyl 301) without heads for $700 and drove it home. Also '73 F gas with both heads $600, and '76 L diesel 6-30 black and 15ft platform for $1500. I use the '77 F2 and the L.

What it's worth and what it sells for at the auction are two different numbers ! Auctions may drive the price skyhigh, if anyone locally can use it ,either in the field or for parts.Figure out your max price(include 'buyer's fee(10-15% !),taxes, etc. and STICK to it!!!
